Butterfly Friend

Here’s something quick and easy I made other day, my daughter wanted a nice keepsake to send to her friend.

I also made a gorgeous pocket card, that I haven’t done in ages, this was lots of fun to do.

Happy Valentines Day!

We hope you’re having a lovely day, even though some of you will be working. Is love in the air for you? Quite a few of you dropped into our card stall at South Sydney Industrial Markets to buy a Valentine’s Day card or two, so it must be.

Here’s a bit of the love that was shared around yesterday!

Our next market day will hopefully be Sunday 27th February – we hope to see you there!

Remember, we are able to make cards at the markets too – if you’d like someone’s name on a birthday card, or your Mum’s favourite colour is pink, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. We’re updating our gallery regularly with cards that are available, so if you like what you see, leave a comment on our blog!

Cheers,

Dani and Karen

To Market, to Market…

Welcome to Impressionable Art – the joint blog of Karen Oliver and Dani Holland, Independent Stampin’ Up Demonstrators. We started this blog to give information about our regular market stall at South Sydney Industrial Markets, and to provide information about upcoming classes and special offers.

Who are Stampin’ Up! you say?

Stampin’ Up!® is a direct sales company that originated in the United States in 1988. In 2002, they launched in Canada and in April 2006 they started up in Australia, and thank goodness for that! They have now expanded to include New Zealand, UK, France and Germany.

Stampin’ Up!®  products are not available in stores, but only through the network of independent demonstrators like us that make up the Stampin’ Up!®  family. Independent demonstrators share their enthusiasm for the art of stamping via in-home workshops, where exclusive products and great techniques are demonstrated. We teach specialty classes, run stamp clubs and also hold ‘Stamp-a-stacks’.

The stamps themselves are sold in sets using only the best deeply etched red rubber, ensuring great versatility in all stamping projects and only the best stamped images and the exclusive colour families make colour coordination a breeze.

If you’d like to take a peek at our great products, or have a chat to us about Stampin’ Up there are a couple of things you can do:

  • You can always visit our blogs – Karen Inks or Inky Fingers – we update our blogs regularly, and it gives you a good idea of what sort of projects you can create with Stampin’ Up! Products.
  • Come along to a class – these will be regularly advertised on this blog.
  • Why not host a workshop or a class in your home? The emphasis at a Stampin’ Up! workshop is on having fun!

Why host a Stampin’ Up!® Workshop?

  • Because it’s fun! Get your friends and family together for a good time!!  Your guests will love learning about this new paper crafting hobby for card making and scrapbooking. And if they’re already interested in paper craft, they’ll love it even more!
  • Hostess benefits As the hostess, you will receive hostess gifts from me, plus you get to keep the samples that I make and, depending on sales, you can earn free stamp sets and merchandise from Stampin’ Up!
  • Free catalogue Every hostess will receive a free catalogue valued at $12.95 as part of her hostess ‘package’.  The Idea Book & Catalogue is full of great ideas for you to recreate.

Workshops can be tailored to your requirements, beginner stamper or scrapbooker, or more experienced. I’ll work with you to tailor the party to meet your needs.

A typical workshop runs for about 2 hours (depending on how much you and your guests like to chat!). We’ll demonstrate different Stampin’ Up! products and techniques and then every guest will have the opportunity to create and to try out the different products, and take their creations home with them to show off. If you find you like a particular stamp set in the catalogue, we can use it in our demonstrations. Want to know how to use a particular product? We can show that too. We’ll work with you to tailor the party to meet your needs.

There are no minimum or maximum numbers of guests. We can adapt a workshop to cater to most group sizes, although around eight seems to be a good number.

What sort of workshop would you like to host?

Here are some ideas. If there’s something else you’d like to do, please let us know!

  • Beginners Workshop We’ll demonstrate two easy projects, and your guests make one of them.  There is no cost to the guests to make the projects. They get to take these projects home and show them off.
  • Stamp-A-Stack You and your guests will make 10 cards – 5 each of 2 different designs. Cost is $15 (plus $3 if you want envelopes). The cards will be easy enough that anyone can get them completed.  All cardstock and materials are pre-cut and ready to stamp.
  • Card Buffet Five designs of cards for you and your guests to choose from to make. Guests may make as many or as few as they like.  Cards (plus envelopes) cost $2.50 per card.
  • Technique Workshop You’re not a beginner anymore and you’d like to learn some more techniques.  At a technique workshop you and your guests get to learn a specific technique in-depth. We’ll show you different applications of that technique, and each guest will complete two projects.

How do I host?
Contact Karen in Earlwood, Sydney or Dani in Summer Hill, Sydney and then all you need to do is pick the type of event that you would like to host and date that works for you, then round up a list of friends and family.  We’ll get the invite ready and the work is all done!

We hope to hear from you soon!
